JOE

Who?

They say the creative mind is a restless one—or maybe it’s just ADD! Either way, I can relate.

Hi! I’m Joe Nasr, a lifelong creative on a mission to transform my passions into paychecks. Currently splitting my time between Dubai/AbuDhabi and Beirut, and I work as a creative director and guest lecturer.

Here's a bit more of my story.

Music

As a child, I probably annoyed my neighbors with my guitar serenades, but my fascination with sound has persisted. Those early jams may have sounded more like a strangled cat, but they led me to take courses in musicology while teaching students. During university, I dabbled in composing multimedia scores and juggling audio engineering for TV commercials, discovering how the perfect combination of chords and silence could bring stories to life.

Design

Fast-forward to my time as a designer and Art Director in advertising at Grey Worldwide. I decided to shake things up and ventured to Dubai, where I reinvented myself focusing only on video production. I earned my Adobe certifications and dove headfirst into the realm of video editing, motion graphics, and visual effects. My first project, “Et bel Arabi,” was a trial by fire, but after a few years, I found myself collaborating with renowned brands like Adidas, Maybelline, Chopard, Guerlain, and NYX, even directing some of Elie Saab’s live shows.

Technology

As technology advanced, so did my curiosity. I jumped into the realms of Virtual Reality and Web3, merging ad campaigns with immersive design to push creative boundaries. These experiences kept me inspired and constantly learning by taking vr design courses, even if there were moments when I felt like I was in over my head.

Guest Lecturer

Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to share my knowledge as a teacher, leading workshops for companies like ITP, Cartier, the Ministry of Culture, and over 15 organizations across Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This aspect of my journey has been just as rewarding as my client work, as I’ve learned that the true joy of this profession lies in collaboration and growth.

A Few Bumps Along the Way

I took a shot at starting my own agency, but I quickly realized that being a money-focused business mogul isn't quite my style. I prefer to channel my energy into creating rather than crunching numbers.

Future

Now, I continue my journey, diving into captivating projects, ad campaigns, and virtual experiences. I’m grateful for this winding path and eager to see what's next.
